Lance from the Jungle of Life came up with this month’s Random Acts of Kick Arse theme, and not surprisingly for Lance…
…he chose wacky.
Not surprisingly for me, I had no problems attracting wackiness, being wacky and spreading the wack. In fact, wackiness runs in my family…
And in my partner, Chris’s family…
So you see, even if I wanted to be normal, it would be inordinately difficult seeing as I have geneology working against me.
RAOKA 1: Bond, James Bond, or rather, Jones, Christmas Jones
The company Chris works for (Flight Centre), is known for their wacky Christmas parties. This year’s theme was Bond. I went as Christmas Jones, an evidently little known Bond girl, as noone knew who the hell I was. I took comfort in the fact that at least I fitted the Christmas theme AND I had the biggest gun of anyone there.
RAOKA 2: Looney Luna Park
What better place to be wacky than Sydney’s famous Luna Park. A trip to Sydney for an early Christmas with Chris’ family provided the opportunity and Chris’ niece and nephew provided the excuse. Adults with Adultitis, beware! Luna Park is a reliable antidote…

RAOKA 3: Crazy Arse Christmas
A Christmas with either of our families is NEVER normal. Here’s the evidence…
So there you have it, a wacky month in review.
The Other RAOKA Crusaders
Check out below and at the end of this post to find out how the other Kick Arse Crusaders spread wackiness this month;
Lori from Jane Be Nimble
Dani from Positively Present
Melissa from Operation NICE
Brandi from Joy Rebel
Lance from The Jungle of Life
Getting Involved in RAOKA!
If you’d like to become a Random Acts of Kick Arse Crusader, then here’s your chance;
- Follow along with our monthly themes and spread the random acts of kick arse!
- Write a post about what you got up to and publish it on the first Wednesday of each month if you are in the US or Thursday for Aussies (for everyone else, check out your corresponding day here). If you need a reminder each month, feel free to email me at sami [@ symbol] lifelaughsandlemmings [dot] com letting me know you want to be a RAOKA Crusader and I’ll send you a reminder email). If you don’t have a blog, you’re welcome to play along in the comments.
- When you see my RAOKA post published, fill out your details in the form below including the URL address of your own RAOKA post and the title of your blog in the “Link Title” field. This will then automatically create a link to your post for others to see what kind of arse kicking you get up to. See the following example link (link 1).
This Month’s Theme
This month’s theme was chosen by Melissa at Operation NICE and she chose: Gratitude. A perfect theme for the start of a new year.

Sami!
You are one wacky person!!! I LOVE IT!! Well…I wonder about that first picture, though…hmmm….where does this stuff come from, anyway?!?!?!?
So, wacky is in your genes! And in Chris’ genes! And wow!! You had a wacky month…or wait…maybe it was just a *ahem* “normal” month! And those sunglasses…they are awesome! And…those reindeer ears…my wife has a set exactly like those and wore them all over the place this past month. Hmmm….maybe you guys are distant cousins…
All the pic’s and video are great!!!!
OK, Lance totally took the words out of my mouth! AGAIN!
I’ve been Lanced!
Sami, the one thing I have to add is that you ROCK as a Bond girl! Laura Croft,anyone? Hey, did you hear about the new movie coming out called SALT? Another A. Jolie kick-arse movie – I want to take YOU to see it with me!! Wouldn’t that be a kick!
I love what you started here with RAOKA, Sami. Every month has been a blast and has helped me to see things I’m sure I wouldn’t have seen before. Thank you for your leadership around this rocking idea!
YOU ROCK, IN A WACKY SORT OF WAY!
~xo
OMG.
The red eye is perfect. Don’t edit that out.
What the hell is that thing anyway? Looks 50 cal.
Good Gawd.
Great wacky adventures, Sami! I grinned all the way through your post! Christmas Jones!! ::chuckle::
@Lance
I left a comment on Lori’s post saying she’s the Queen of Wacky. You, my friend, would have to be the king! Or wait, if you’re the king, what does that make your wife? SHE must be the queen. But then what does that make Lori? OK, my head hurts. You can be the king, your wife can be the queen and Lori can be the duchess!
Hey Lance! You know, you really should stop sending me these photos of yourself. I can’t help but reveal them to the world!
The scary thing is, this was just a “normal” month for us. Wacky seems to follow me.
Okay , you guys take the wackiness cake!!! You all must be having the best time – all the time. Fun on both sides of your family.
I soooo want to go to Looney Luna Park with you loons.
And eat 3 chickens — right now — all by myself.
This is fun, yay!!
@Lori
Lara Croft? Angelina Jolie? I’m not sure I’m anywhere near being in that league! Especially seeing as the gun was plastic. Although, it did have a flashing light thing and weird noise every time I pulled the trigger. None of the Bond girls has had a gun like THAT.
Chicka, you are too kind (or delusional)!
Cool, if I see SALT, I’ll totally think of you when I’m watching it. When are you guys coming to visit anyway??
It’s funny how each month seems to present opportunities to engage in each theme. It’s awesome to see how others have come on board with it. Thanks so much for being a part of the crusade! Wouldn’t be the same without you.
@Dave
Haha! I have no idea what calibre it is. All I can say is it did have a flashing light and machine gun-like noise. It scared the hell out of most of the guests. Mission accomplished. No one messes with Christmas Jones!
@Gayze
Thanks Gayze! I’m off now to see what wackiness you got up to!
@Jannie
Hey Jannie. Yep, it’s true, there’s not often a dull moment. If ever you’re Down Under, be sure to look us up! We’d be happy to take you on a wacky adventure!
As for the chickens, these were Chris’ infamous beer can chickens (note, all 3 are standing on beer cans that are strategically placed up their, well, let’s just say, orifices)!
I came over from Jannie’s Whacky post to find some very whacky pictures and fun here…Thank you…I laughed …better than Lance drinking a pepper milkshake and his child saying – plug it in (the blender!)
Great wacky post!
I love all of the wacky pics!
Okay – I’ll be the duchess!
Shaka that!
Sami, without making me look too wacky I must explain that myself, my dad and my brother were dancing like lepracorns infront of a wacky mirror…all the same too damn funny…I love it!
@Patricia
Hi Patricia, glad it had the desired effect! Lance’s weird arse milkshake was a hard act to follow! Thanks muchly for dropping by. Great to have you here amongst the wackiness!
@Positively Present
Thanks PP! All in a month’s work.
@Lori
Or how about the High Priestess of Wackiness. Now THAT has a great ring to it!
@Chris
Sorry Babe, mirror or no mirror, you’re officially wacky (and so’s your brother and so’s your Dad).
What a Christmas crew! You guys are hilarious! I want one of those chickens. Plus, I’m definitely using the beer chicken photo for one of my blog posts. Fantastic WACKY RAOKA, Sami and Chris. Come and visit mine! I posted it earlier today. Looking forward to seeing what Gratitude brings. As I write my RAOKA post, I notice how much love there is in the world if we slow down and let it wash over us. Thanks for keeping this RAOKA structure in place. It’s really good for me to have a happy focus for the month.
@Cheryl
Thanks Cheryl. December sure was a great month to have wacky as the theme!
I agree, having a positive focus each month is great. I’m always amazed at the opportunities that cross my path that are aligned with the theme. Gonna go over and see what wackiness you got up to now.
Now here is an example of a family who knows how to not take themselves too seriously! Clearly, Adultitis levels are at recommended level of lowness.
Sami —
I’ve been to your site, Jannie’s site and Zeenat’s site about this month’s theme for RAOKA. You’ve all given me lots of laughs. I’ll have to visit Lance next. I love all the pictures you shared. I don’t know if I can handle all this wackiness, but it sure is fun:~)
Can I be an adopted Aussie? I write my posts on Monday and Thursday, but I’d love to do a RAOKA post, especially since I find WACKY a wonderful theme for January!!!
@Jason
Hey Jason, haha, yep, craziness abounds! Being wacky sure helps overcome Adultitis.
@Sara
Hi Sara. I’m stoked to hear our challenge this month gave you plenty of laughs. Our work here is done!
And yes, you can totally be an adopted Aussie! The more crusaders involved in RAOKA the better. It doesn’t really matter when you post, just fill in your details when you do so others can click through your link to see what you got up to. The theme for January is actually “gratitude” (wacky was Dec’s theme). Feel free to go ahead and be wacky anyway though! You can always link to this post later if you want to.
Oh my freaking God — color me clueless — I just now realized that’s LANCE!! in that pink wig. Boy, it doesn’t take me long, does it!?
L.M.A.O!!
Looking forward to gratitude — already thought of one today – my long sweater that allows my butt crack to be well hidden on this library chair, as I wear these in these typical-of-today low-rise jeans. Whoo-hoo!!!!! Can it get much better than this??
@Jannie
Yep, that’s Lance all right. Pink suits him don’t you think?
And a sweater that covers your butt crack. Now THAT’S something to be grateful for!
oh wow….You take the cake for wacky this month sami….
Those chickens…are freaking amazing….What pretty heads they have
Much wacky love
Z~
Sami and Jannie,
Ahem! I am wearing NO pink today! I’d send you a picture…but, well…we all know how well that has worked for me, huh!!!!!!
And speaking of but(t)’s … nice work with the sweater! I make my daughter pass the butt crack test before I approve of any jeans she buys…I’m sure she’s thankful for that…
Very cool idea. I’d love to get involved and kick some arse. I’ll add you to my RSS feed and definitely make a submission next month.
Many Thanks to Lori at janebenimble.com
@Zeenat
Hey Zeenat! YAY CAKE!!! I LOVE CAKE!
I actually felt a little sorry for the chickens. Not such a glamorous way to end.
@Lance
Hahahahaha! You’re learning Lance! Although, you can’t stop sending me pics, where would I then get my entertainment from?
@Jason
Hey Jason. Woohoo! Welcome to the fray! Great to have you with us. Look forward to seeing how you spread the gratitude this month.
And yep, Lori is a staunch supporter of this crusade. Thanks Lori!!!
Sami,
Hmmm…well, let’s see reindeer girl with the big gun…I have this inkling that you have loads of material right at home…(just saying…)
@Lance
Yep, unfortunate but true!
